Moments ago, I was excited to see the FBI envelopes in the mailbox. They were just on time! Alas, news was not good with BOTH Gary and my fingerprints rejected due to insufficient whorls or something to that effect. And we had taken two sets each — and both were not good. Once we get printed again (I think we can go early next week as Fridays are tough for Gary), it is another 3-4 weeks of waiting to see whether or not they are rejected again. We did these prints back in September 2008 for this FBI clearance. They were approved then, but due to the date discrepancy, we had to update them so they don’t appear expired. So, should everything be approved next time, we inch into May with completion of all adoption paperwork. Fingerprintable fingers crossed!!

Again, I am reminded that timing is everything. And in this case, it’s leading us right up to the child who is meant to be ours. I am proud of my ongoing faith (do i have it finally?) and diligence and dedication. I sometimes don’t think (well, in my blog, I do allow myself to ponder) but I just keep *doing* — always with my eye on the prize. I am also humbled by the strength of those adopting their first children, and for the enormous patience this process takes for all involved. I often times do feel grateful that time does fly a bit for me with my daily life of being at home with two children and all the scheduling that involves and the way days keep moving, with not too much time to feel the time passing. But to be at the mercy of this, especially after so many might have struggled with infertility and an altogether different set of rejections, is heart breaking. But with adoption, however, in the end, there is always a prize. And my eye is right on the prize. No matter when …
