Today I spoke with Carolyn about her One Year Anniversary of meeting Henry coming up in a few days. And just now, as I’m about to go to sleep for the night, I realize that October 19, which it technically is now as it’s after midnight, is the day I first began my blog. One year of laying my thoughts out on the line in hopes that my prayers over what to do would be answered. Back then, I wondered if we would add to our family at all, and would adoption be in our future. Back then, this blog was called Deciding to Adopt. And now, 365 days later, with my dossier in process, I see what a year can do. In one year, I see the love of Henry and Carolyn, the amazing strides he’s taken, the family they have become. In one year, I see that we, too, are finally on our way.

Yes it has been an exciting year all around. We met Tougy on 01 Nov and now, like you, are hoping that the next 365 days will see the addition of new family members.
You are more than just on your way. The adoption becomes real when you commit to it, and you and Gary have moved beyond that. Of course it is not final for a bit longer yet, but that time will come as well.
It has been nice to read your musings and to follow your journey as new directions and steps bring you closer and closer to your child. I look forward to many more insightful and emotionally honest entries as new challenges, successes, and milestones come up. All the best from us here in Maine. Take Care.

Has it really been a year already?? The time has gone by so quickly. I’m so excited for you and your family and can’t wait to see what one more year will bring!

It’s been a big year, huh? I just did our “One year” post this morning. It’s been so much fun to watch you get to this point. I’m glad you are on your way! I wonder what kind of a post we’ll be reading in October 2009?

Hi Steph… to answer a question you left for me a couple weeks ago: The bedding I bought for our little one is called Lullaby Birds and it’s made by Kids Line. I do not think it’s made in anything other than crib size but Kids Line does have other somewhat similar styles (such as Maripoza) that do come in larger sizes.
