Proud to Announce Our Region Assignment …..

ALMATY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How did I just manifest this on the video I made? The map on the last slide shows a plane going from New York City to Almaty. Wishful thinking … or did I just help to pave the way a bit more for us to meet our son?

It looks like we are going to travel in mid-November after all. Looks like my tickets to see Billy Elliott on Broadway with my mom will have to be enjoyed by my dad. Looks like Thanksgiving will be in Kazakhstan, and what a joyous one it will be. Looks like I’m about to be beside myself as the whole house is sleeping and I just found out the news via email because Julie saw my announcement video and didn’t want to wait until morning!!

Looks like my dreams are coming true!!

Looks like I’d better start finding out more about Almaty!

Looks like I will finally see the inside of the famous Ramstore, which I’ve been reading about for years.

Looks like the timing is perfect as Carolyn, Henry, Lea and Dylan visited today and we spoke about travel and plans with Gary.

Looks like it was such a sweet relief to tell Gary’s family in earnest and have the children tell them today and share the video to absolutely amazing responses!

Looks like I am going to start dusting off my suitcases and getting my act together to prepare my home for a baby.

Looks like I’d better get my camera fixed or a new one ASAP!!

Looks like I won’t be able to sleep tonight!!!!

Looks like I am going to Almaty next month to meet our son!!!

    I can not believe it!!!!! I am so EXCITED for you. I hope you are in the Babyhouse Dylan is from, I hope I hope!!! Lea and I were just saying last night I hope Steph goes to Dylan's BH, so she can bring new pictures of Dylan.

    We traveled through Almaty & stayed there for about a week at the end of our trip while we were waiting for paperwork. It is a great city, with lots to offer.

  19. Yea! I hope you get to go to the same BH that Dylan and Nicholas are from. I'm really so relieved since I know Gary is anxious about flying, it's a lot better than having to take a small plane to another region. Definitely manageable with kids and better area for bringing kids. Even though it will be cold, you will find things to do with them.

  35. Congratulations on your region assignment. I remember the day I learned of my oldest daughter's region. It really brought more of a vision of her as a person to me. I was in Kaz 6 years ago over Thanksgiving to being bonding with her. How time flies!

    On both adoption trips I was in Almaty for around a week. It wasn't as cold as the north (my girls are from Pavlodar and Semey) and you could find anything you needed there. It is almost like London or Paris 🙂 You are sure to have a fantastic trip.
