I just read in my local newspaper that one of Steven Curtis Chapman’s Chinese born daughters was tragically killed by a car driven by her brother in her driveway yesterday. She was only 5 years old. Two of Chapman’s songs about international adoption play on my Playlist. He’s part of my world every day that I log on to my blog. If your volume is up, perhaps you are listening to his beautiful words right now. My heart goes out to him and his family — and for the life of his daughter, Maria Sue, who was here on earth for too short of a time. May G-d bless them and give them strength …

Hi Stepanie,
I was just reading Heather Mauro’s blog and saw your post. You asked if she lived in NJ, which I do, so I checked out your blog. I am a single woman in the process of adopting from Kaz…my dossier is being translated, but I’m still waiting for one official document. I loved the passage on your blog about God putting us on a journey where parts of it are treacherous and we’re making it up as we go along…that’s how I feel right now. It’s been so helpful to talk to people who’ve been through adoption, so I don’t have to always feel like I’m making it up as I go along!!
I saw your picture of Henry Tarpey. I’m using the same agency as his mom (Journey Home) and will be meeting her and Henry, along with 2 other Kaz families at the end of June…I can’t wait!!
Good luck with your decision…can’t wait to see what you decide!
